Surface mount aluminum Door Seal is typically a piece of aluminum with rubber or silicone that prevents air, dust or dirt from flowing around the edges of your door frame and door. There are 2 types of surface door seals that are readily available in hardware stores: adhesive tape type door seal and screw type door seal. They are both suitable for the Wooden Doors and metal doors.

So how to install this door seal?

If for the adhesive tape type, the installation is as follows:

1/ After the door is closed, the actual exposed size of the door is reduced by 3-4mm (excluding the part hidden in the door frame after the door is closed) to intercept the end of the product without the button. The length of the rubber strip is 10mm longer than the product.

2/ First snap on the two sides of the masking accessories, use towels or paper towels to wipe the surface of the location to be pasted, try not to have moisture and dirt. Peel off the backing adhesive tape, align the protruding edge at the bottom of the product with the bottom of the door, and press firmly.

3/ Parallel the top bumping accessories and the adjustment knob, with self-tapping screws to install the top bumping accessories to the door frame. Adjustment knob can be directly extracted with tools, then the adjustment knob back to the appropriate position to adjust the seal for lifting height, and finally to close the door. If the seal could automatically fall and the bottom of the door without gaps, installation finish. Door open range within 5cm, the seal will automatically rise.

If for the screw type, the installation is more complicated as follows:

1/ After the door is closed, the actual exposed size of the door is reduced by 3-4mm (excluding the part hidden in the door frame after the door is closed) to intercept the end of the product without the button. The length of the rubber strip is 10mm longer than the product. And to install the product within 8mm from the ground.

2/ Tighten the adjusting screws, then draw off the aluminum outer cover and tighten the fixing part according to the required position. After fixing, put the aluminum outer cover directly on the fixing part and press firmly, and finally install the decorative cover on both sides. However, please note that the button end needs to be broken at the position where there is an indentation inside the decorative cover.

3/ The fixing part can be changed to different orientation at will. When the direction needs to be changed, the fixing part can also be changed as long as you need. The adjustment knob can be pulled out directly with the tools, and the adjustment knob can be placed in the certain position to adjust the seal for lifting height. If the seal could automatically fall when close the door and the bottom of the door without gaps, installation finish. Door open range within 5cm, the seal will automatically rise.
