Door Closer is a type of hardware which is used for closing the doors automatically and mechanically. If your doors are quite heavy, it will be highly recommended to use a door closer rather than a spring Hinge.

A standard door closer usually include one closer body, one connecting arm, several connecting arm nuts and several fixing screws. When you leave the hardware store, please don’t forget to check whether they are completely in your package. Sometimes, there will be a manual or instruction guidance for your reference.

But if there is no manual or instruction guidance for your reference, how can we install a door closer after purchasing them for our usage? Here are some steps for you to follow:

Step 1: Loosely attach the arm to the door closer using the connecting arm nut.

Step 2: Hold the fitting template against edge of door. Gently mark door with pencil, perforating the template at the locations of the holds that will need to be drilled.

Step 3: Drill all six holes for the main door closer and two for the fitting arm.

Step 4: Join the arm of the door closer to the body using the connection nuts and adjust the arm at 90 degree to the front corner of the door.

Step 5: Fix all of the screws tightly, but do not over tighten them.

Step 6: When you have installed the door closer gently open the door to ensure the movement is correct and the door closer is functioning correctly.
